About the Role:


An
Aerospace Application Engineer supports inside sales, outside sales and project management with technical deliverables, developing engineering and sales tools, and analysis of the aerospace market technical offerings.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with external customer, TSS manufacturing, TSS central engineering and others to devise optimal solutions to customer need
  • Check and approve feasibility of aerospace projects
  • Identify process and continuous improvement activities
  • Develop engineering and sales tools
  • Support market analysis
  • Support Aerospace Central Engineering in the creation of custom seal and bearing designs and design requests
  • Prepare proposal drawings, sales drawings, and inspection drawings or sketches
  • Combine proposal drawings and supporting data in a formal package for submittal to customers
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and sales personnel
  • Prepare and present aerospace product training seminars to customers
  • Travel to customer facilities, both domestically and internationally, to provide technical support and training
  • Support sales in the development and execution of strategic plans improve revenue and profit
  • Utilize seal design programs, computer software and laboratory facilities to develop and compile performance data on new & existing polymer solutions
  • Respond to technical questions regarding product performance, production, installation and other
  • Complete technical project tasks to schedule
  • Support the creation, interpretation and presentation of test and development data, included but not limited to modeling, FEA, material testing, cycle testing, environment testing, etc. Such tasks may also require the generation of detailed test reports and analysis
  • Resolve field performance problems
  • Keep technically abreast of both internal and external product, material, and tools development.
  • Assist in trade shows as requested
  • Support quality and manufacturing in root cause and corrective action efforts
  • Creation of tools or documentation used for the purpose of business compliance, business efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as required, supporting the company's business goals

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Minimum 2 years of product design experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Unigraphics NX6 or higher strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in CATIA or other solid modeling software strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Team Center or similar product life cycle management software preferred
  • Knowledge of science of hydraulics and pneumatics preferred
  • Knowledge of typical aerospace plastic and elastomer materials preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
