As the continuous demands from global businesses, we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Regional Legal & Compliance Professional to support our growing business globally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Based in Singapore, you will be part of the strategic layout of Haier Smart Home and manage the company's legal portfolio, including:
- Develop, implement and maintain group compliance policies and procedures to minimize the compliance risk.
- Draft, vet, review, negotiate and perfect various types of documents and contracts including master subscription agreements, data processing addenda, NDAs, payment agreements, financing, security and transaction documentation in support of Haier businesses in Singapore and SEA.
- Review and identify legal or regulatory compliance issues concerning the business units and/or arising from the business activities, advise and provide commercial solutions to minimize legal risks and enable the management to make informed strategic decision within an acceptable risk.
- Establish mechanism to detect, report and correct violations and ensure mínimal impact and optimal correction promptly.
- Advise business leaders about Group Whistle-Blowing, Forensics & Compliance Practices, Business Code of Conduct and Data Protection and Privacy Policies.
- Responsible to enhance the corporate governance practices, revise the relevant guidelines and authority matrix to be in consistent with headquarters' processes.
- Provide support in the event of any disputes or potential disputes and litigation matters and conduct internal investigations.
- Responsible for establishment of the company's compliance system, drafting of relevant policies.
- Actively contribute to crossregional team projects.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate LL.B. or postgraduate J.D. from a reputable university in Singapore, the UK, or a common law jurisdiction and valid practicing certificate in a common law jurisdiction.
- Admission to the bar in common law jurisdiction, preferably in Singapore.
- Minimum 10 years of PQE inhouse or Law Firm, with extensive handson working experience in relevant legal and compliance areas.
- Able to organize, prioritize, and manage large numbers of deadlines, in a fastpaced, rapidlyevolving, and demanding industry and work environment.
- Highly responsive with a serviceoriented attitude. Able to handle pressure and provide thoughtful recommendations.
- Maker spirit and eager to continually learn and develop professionally.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Mandarin to liaise and manage internal and external Mandarinspeaking clients and customers.
