About the job:

  • The intern position offers excellent career opportunities for highly motivated and ambitious students without prior experience in the Insurance Industry.

We are looking for an Insurance Intern to join our team for a three-month period from May to July 2023 with some flexibility on dates.

The internship requires 40 hours of work per week, and we offer a flexible, hybrid-working arrangement.

Our internship program provides an opportunity for students to gain practical experience within the insurance domain and train under professionals with decades of experience in insurance and consulting.

Selected interns will work with a team of consultants of varying seniority who will provide guidance and support, such that you can train alongside them and become fully self-sufficient.

Interns will work with the Insurance team to assist them with external client projects as well as internal market research and business development opportunities.

You will work with clients to elicit and document system requirements, understand and document clients' business models and processes, and design and document solutions with clients to meet operational needs.

Internally, interns will carry out research and contribute to creating marketable assets in insurance, actively contributing to sales opportunities.

Synpulse's one-of-a-kind Academy program is offered to interns, with interns able to take multiple modules from the Synpulse New Employee School (NES) to learn and integrate into the role over the course of the internship.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in aspects of project execution, typically including developing hypotheses, data collection and analysis, conducting research, documenting, and potentially presenting to a wide range of audiences
  • Execute solutions to complex problems, develop knowledge of the insurance value chain, and demonstrate the ability to think independently and communicate concisely
  • Support Insurance leadership in business development efforts, including proposal creation, development of thought leadership articles and other marketing initiatives
  • Job shadow under consultants to understand user needs, and support documentation of user requirements and agreed solutions
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the project and client teams, as well as an expanding network within Synpulse
  • Be mentored by a team of Synpulse consultants willing to share their career learnings while participating in Synpulse company updates, fireside chats, and leisure events.
  • Develop knowledge of industry and insurance systems (Core systems, CRM, Policy Management, etc.)
  • Be a key member of an entrepreneurial team stepping up and taking responsibility when needed, communicating feedback clearly, and receiving direction to increase your industry specific knowledge and practical experience across insurance transformation

About you:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (ideally 3rd/4thyear students)
  • Prior internship experience a plus, although not a must have
  • Eager to learn and work with various departments within Synpulse
  • Ability to quickly understand complex situations
  • Highly analytical and structured in problem solving
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonalskills with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • A willingness to work fluidly and respectfully with our incredibly talented team
