  • As a member of the BW Legal Centre of Excellence, provide legal support to all areas of the Group's business, including shipping, energy projects, acquisitions, joint ventures, financing and corporate matters.
  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of legal documentation and commercial agreements, including commercial contracts, term sheets, charterparty agreements sale and purchase agreements and shareholder agreements.
  • Assist on any potential dispute resolution matters (litigation, arbitration and mediation).
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance issues, including antitrust, sanctions, antibribery, data protection, human rights and environmental matters.
  • Research and prepare opinions on matters of law.
  • Liaise with external parties to ensure proper administration of dispute resolution and closing of transactions.
  • Conduct due diligence on investment opportunities.
  • Develop and foster excellent relationships with peers and stakeholders.
  • Liaise and work collaboratively within the Legal, Insurance and Corporate Secretarial teams.
  • Advise on and monitor corporate governance practices and legal developments.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, as required.
  • Advise on the selection of, and instruct and manage, external counsel.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified lawyer in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction.
  • 15 PQE gained at an international law firm and/or as inhouse counsel for a multinational organisation.
  • Strong academic credentials and extracurricular activities.

SKILLS:

  • Sound working knowledge of general corporate, commercial and contract law.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Versatile with good technical skills and a commercially focused and practical attitude towards problemsolving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team player with a clientfocused approach.
  • Ability to engage in constructive debate.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise tasks.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
