Our renowned Power Market Advisory Practice is seeking a skilled Consultant/ Senior Consultant to join the team in Singapore.

We are honored to collaborate with leading energy companies, policymakers, regulators, investors, developers, operating globally across the energy supply chain. Guided by a Senior Management Team esteemed as Thought Leaders in the industry, we assist our clients in shaping, defining, and implementing changes in energy markets.

What will be your responsibilities

• Offering advice to key organizations in the energy sector transformation, delivering economic, commercial, and strategic consultancy to energy firms, financial institutions, governments in South Korea and/or Japan.
• Tasks include valuations of companies and assets for mergers and acquisitions, optimizing portfolios from fuel contracts to generation dispatch, designing hedging strategies for vertically integrated energy companies, and advising governments on the costs and benefits of future energy policy options.
• Proposing enhancements to models and processes to drive continuous improvement, as you gain more experience on the job and become more proficient with our modeling toolkit.
• Contributing to developing in-depth quantitative insights into how power market fundamentals, such as electricity demand trends, supply, and technology costs, influence the value of projects and companies in our operating markets.

Your qualifications and background

• You possess a solid grasp of wholesale power markets, power market analysis, regulation, and market design, ideally acquired in the South Korean and/or Japanese market.
• You have analytical skills with a background in applying them to wholesale electricity market fundamentals, market modeling.
• You have experience in commercial structures, evaluating routes to market for power generation assets, and crafting business models in energy markets.
• You can take ownership and achieve results in client-facing settings.
• You exhibit outstanding communication and presentation skills and a proven track record of effective teamwork.
• You can manage projects day-to-day and supervise inputs/outputs from the modeling team.
• Proficiency in Korean and/or Japanese would be beneficial.
