School of Biological Sciences

Tenure Track Assistant Professor in TCM (Acupuncture)

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), College of Science (CoS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking exceptional candidates for a tenure track Assistant Professor position specializing in clinical and translational studies in acupuncture and integrative healthcare. Ideal applicants will possess a robust research background with a focus on cancer, metabolic syndrome, and mental disorders, evidenced by a strong publication and grant track record.

The School of Biological Sciences offers a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine Program that integrates Chinese medicine with Western medicine knowledge to produce proficient Chinese medicine professionals well-versed in local diseases. This bilingual program is taught in English and Mandarin.

SBS is looking for candidates with a clear research vision and a history of impactful publications. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and leading an independently funded research program, as well as contributing to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentorship.

The appointed individual will engage in Chinese Medicine services, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research supervision, and relevant research activities.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Chinese medicine clinical practice and teaching
  • Demonstrated success in research through influential publications, research student supervision, and interdisciplinary collaborations
  • Dedication to Chinese Medicine education and interest in innovative pedagogy
  • Fluency in both Chinese and English languages

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Chinese Medicine recognized by the TCM Practitioners Board Singapore
  • PhD in a relevant field such as Chinese Medicine or Public Health

Emoluments

The selected candidate will receive a competitive compensation package, inclusive of substantial start-up funds and lab facilities support.
