Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on global rice markets, including factors affecting supply, demand, and pricing.
  • Monitor and analyze international and regional rice market trends, identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Gather data on rice production, consumption, imports, and exports from various sources such as government agencies, trade publications, and industry reports.
  • Develop and maintain statistical models to forecast rice market trends and pricing movements.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to provide insights and recommendations for optimizing rice trading strategies.
  • Prepare regular and adhoc reports on rice market analysis, presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on trade policies, regulatory changes, and geopolitical developments that could impact rice markets.
  • Assist in the development of risk management strategies to mitigate potential market fluctuations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry contacts, including farmers, suppliers, and trade associations.
  • Participate in industry conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay current with the latest developments in the rice market.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Market Analyst, preferably with a focus on rice or other agricultural commodities.
  • Strong knowledge of rice market fundamentals, trading practices, and global supply chain dynamics.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation using statistical tools and software.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problemsolving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to convey complex information to various audiences.
  • Detailoriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, data visualization tools, and market research databases.
  • Familiarity with commodity trading platforms and risk management strategies is a plus.
  • A passion for staying updated on industry trends and a commitment to continuous learning.
