Responsibilities

  • Lead the design pillar by guiding and working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to offer elevated design solutions that are innovative, sustainable and feasible to manufacture.
  • Take lead and work with the heads of business units, technical and other crossfunctional teams to drive design strategies and milestones.
  • Oversee and review concept garments and costs, work with cross functional teams to improve costs where needed, ensuring aesthetics/design intent of the product are maintained to achieve first time right garments.
  • Monitor/maintain the overall account profitability; and strive for continuous improvements within the design ecosystem to ensure achievement of set KPI's and overall efficiency.
  • Lead, guide and direct all customer meetings with samples, ensuring costs are professionally presented and feedback is shared with respective parties to deliver set requirements within a timely manner.
  • Lead virtual prototyping initiatives to reduce concept development leadtimes and reduce overall CPH during the product development cycle, encourage and facilitate necessary training to improve knowledge related to virtual prototyping technologies.
  • Keep upto date with global sustainability technologies, innovations and trends and ensure adaptability of these when developing design solutions.
  • Lead customer visits/ presentations and meetings providing recommendations where possible whilst striving to identify innovative solutions/approaches to the design and development process to ensure the brand right product is delivered.
  • Build strong relationships with Raw Material Sourcing & Supply chain teams, local and international strategic partners.
  • Lead and guide the teams in research of prints, shapes, and predictions for upcoming seasons on a commercial level by constantly researching all consumers' behavior.
  • Direct discussions with the Design teams of the customers and draw up a yearly plan to execute concept collections.
  • Independently work on multiple projects whilst offering support, technical guidance and sharing of best practices among others
  • Embed Lean/Innovation/Automation thinking to ensure the Design team embraces a culture of lean thinking/behaviour in line with MOS guidelines by working closely with the teams to establish best practices that can enhance Design team/product performance and efficiencies.
  • Oversee and provide guidance pertaining to the collation of information from sourcing/ research trips into trend book for future referral

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design/Arts from a reputed University
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in Fashion/Apparel design
  • Experience in design development of Women's Lingerie, Sportswear and Activewear.
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D platforms (Clo/ Browzwear) & Excel
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills; must be able to inspire creative teams and drive the development process across functions and manage conflicts.
