Member companies of the Shell Trading Network are located in North and South America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.


Shell Energy North America (SENA), markets energy-related products and services associated with wholesale natural gas and power marketing and trading.

From start-up in the mid 1990s, this company has become one of the largest wholesale energy marketers and traders in North America.

Customers include utilities, gas distribution companies, municipalities, rural electrical co-operatives, independent power producers, gas and power aggregators and large industrial customers.


Accountabilities:

  • Operates Shell's portfolio in a synchronized manner and reduces the net cost of energy delivered to customers by adjusting the hourly preschedule and generation output on real time, while meeting the prudent standards of the WECC, CAISO, and SPP.
  • Capitalize on locational arbitrage opportunities in Northwest and Desert Southwest Real Time Power Markets.
  • Manage river flows and operations to ensure optimization of hydro slice assets and pond storage.
  • Economic dispatch of Shell's Portfolio; management of balancing authority, generation units, transmission, and client resources.
  • Protect all Shell positions by managing power flow, potential cuts, and incremental deals.
  • Effectively bid and manage CAISO intertie and convergence bid positions.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other internal / external groups and trading tenors.
  • Meet time sensitive deadlines. (Accurate and timely deal entry).
  • Ability to multitask in a stressful and dynamic work environment.

What we need from you

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the Singapore on a fulltime basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with extensive familiarity with one or more regional energy producers and markets.
  • Background in power trading and/or scheduling.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving aptitude.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform under rigid daily deadlines.
  • Selfstarter with excellent computer skills.
  • Aggressive, selfmotivated individual who functions well in a team environment.
