Job Description Summary:
The Marketing Data Excellence (MDE) Analyst is responsible for data model management, and governance.

Also be responsible in understanding Marketing requirements, developing and extracting the target segments, and formatting the information for campaign execution for the relevant channel.

Meet our team The Marketing Operations team is responsible for delivering efficient and effective activation of marketing campaigns globally, while also transforming the delivery engine to drive higher impact over time.

The Marketing organization is on a multi-year transformation journey to reimagine the way we go to market, including from an operations and marketing technology perspective.

With a rigorous focus on increasing velocity, quality and reducing cost to serve, the team is invested in a multi-year transformation agenda to rethink processes, platforms and the way we bring high-impact marketing to customers and prospects in a clear and compelling way.

A major component of this journey is the intent to consolidate disparate tools onto a common marketing stack leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud & GCP in conjunction with proprietary tools that can automatically drive intelligent decisions about the next best action for any given customer based on how they interact with PayPal products & services.

To effectively manage this transition, we will need to fundamentally rethink the way we deliver through the marketing ops function and the broader marketing organization at large.


Job Description:

Your way to impact

  • Support the Marketing teams in consultation, and recommendations to best execute highly complex data segmentation for Marketing initiatives.
  • Implement data quality processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of marketing data.
  • Collaborate & identify opportunities with our Global Analytics & Decision Strategy teams to improve data integrity, security, and high uptime availability.

Your day to day you will

  • Perform discovery and analysis work with the Salesforce Ops and Global Analytics & Decision strategy team on the data requirement: data sources, latency, etc.
  • Provide recommendations on the most optimal (data) solution to optimize marketing activities based on datadriven insights.
  • Govern and improve the marketing data model with Marketing Data Engineers and the Global Monitoring team to mitigate any compliance risk, esp. as the data model grows in size and complexity
  • Manage the data migration requirements with Marketing Technology and the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team to add, maintain, move source tables from Teradata to GCP
  • Perform thorough testing of the logic, data solution: unit testing, peer review, system testing and trouble shoot to solve any anomalies detected in the data model

What do you need to bring

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience with relevant 3+ years of Handson experience with Marketing Technology tools
  • GCP Big Query, Teradata SQL, Jupyter Notebooks
  • 3+ yrs. experience in Strong experience in writing SQL Queries, Joins, Store Procedure, User Defined Functions
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in handling semistructured data JSON
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands on experience in developing Python scripts for data manipulation
  • Sound knowledge in Data architecture and design is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Database Management, Campaign Management, and Segmentation.
  • Proficient in Marketing domain.
  • Proficient in prioritizing multiple tasks and work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Be an independent thinker, able to work autonomously on projects with complexity both on the technical side and on the business implications side.
  • Ability to structure complex problems in simple terms.
