NIE invitessuitable candidates to join the Division of Academic Computing& Information Services (ACIS) as an Analyst Programmer/SystemsAnalyst (2-year contract).

The candidate shouldbe a dynamic IT professional who is a good team player and a strongsoftware developer.

JobDescription

As a member of the DigitalSolutions department responsible for data migration and systemsintegration initiatives, your responsibilitiesinclude:

1) Building integration solutionsbetween various software systems to ensure seamless communicationand data flow between systems to support business operations.Specifically, the activitiesinclude:
  • Architect and orchestraterobust data pipelines and integration points betweensystems.
  • Develop and implement integrationinterfaces, APIs and middleware to enable data exchange betweendifferent systems, e.g. core student systems, learning managementplatforms, payment gateway, etc.
  • Work withvarious technical teams and product vendors to understandintegration requirements and ensurecompatibility.
  • Monitor and maintain integrationsolutions, troubleshooting and resolving any reportedissues.
  • Establish secure and compliantintegration across the technologystack.

2) Performing data migrationfrom legacy systems to new COTS to preserve data integrity,quality, and consistency. Specifically, the activitiesinclude:
  • Develop and execute datamigration scripts and processes using appropriate tools andtechnologies.
  • Collaborate with business ownersto establish data mapping rules.
  • Perform datamapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliationto ensure data accuracy post-migration.
  • Ensurecompliance with data security and privacy policies throughout themigration process.
  • Provide post-migrationsupport and troubleshooting asrequired.

3) Project management andcollaboration. Specifically, the activitiesinclude:
  • Track project progress toensure timely delivery and alignment with projectrequirements.
  • Foster effective communicationand collaboration with cross-functional teams involving technicaland businessstakeholders.


Requirements:
  • AUniversity degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2years of experience as a software developer or in a similar role,with specific exposure to data migration and systems integrationwith APIs.
  • Proven expertise in data mapping,transformation, and scripting/programming languages for datamigration initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of APIdesign and development, web services (REST, SOAP) and middlewaretechnologies.
  • Knowledge of database managementsystems and data modelling.
  • Familiarity workingwith COTS and SAAS integration andmigration.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scriptinglanguages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) and integrationframeworks.
  • Quick learner who is passionate andwilling to learn new languages andtechnologies.
  • Experience in the SoftwareDevelopment Life Cycle (SDLC) framework and Agile softwaredevelopment methodology.
  • Knowledge of cloudplatforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture is aplus.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles anddata and system integrationcompliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skillsand attention to detail.
  • Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills.
  • Goodself-motivated team player with a positive attitude and flexibilityin adapting to changes.
  • Ability to work withtight deadlines and fluidrequirements.
