Roles & Responsibilities

Position Summary:
We are seeking two experienced and certified Licensed Cable Detection Workers (LCDW) / Trained Cable Detection Workers (TCDW) to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for identifying, locating, and marking underground cables and utilities to ensure safe and efficient construction work. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in cable detection and underground utility management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cable detection surveys using specialized equipment to locate underground cables and utilities.
  • Mark cable and utility locations accurately to prevent damage during construction and excavation work.
  • Work closely with site engineers and project managers to ensure safe cable and utility detection practices are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations during cable detection operations.
  • Interpret and read utility plans and blueprints to identify potential conflicts.
  • Provide accurate and detailed reports on findings and recommendations for cable relocation or protection.
  • Coordinate with other workers and authorities to ensure proper handling of detected utilities.
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibration of cable detection equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on-site to prevent accidents and ensure worker safety.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in cable detection and utility identification.
  • Valid certification as a Licensed Cable Detection Worker (LCDW) or Trained Cable Detection Worker (TCDW).
  • Strong knowledge of cable detection tools and equipment, as well as utility identification practices.
  • In-depth understanding of safety standards and best practices for cable detection.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with site teams and management.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and accuracy.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
