Position Available:

Research Assistant in Blue CarbonPolicy

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Assistant (RA) will haveknowledge of coastal ecosystem services, social sciences, carbonpolicy, environmental science, and/or similar coastal environmentalissues at the policy-academic interface. They will work closelywith a Research Fellow and project staff for the 'National CarbonAccounting' Work Package, as well as the PIs to ensure therequirements of the project work plan are met. The RA will beresponsible for assisting with social science data collection,collation and analysis of carbon and climate policy data, andassisting with data management. The successful applicant willassist in all aspects of the work package. This will additionallyinclude conducting literature reviews of relevant articles andinformation, managing and analyzing ecological and socioeconomicdatasets related to blue carbon science and policy in Singapore,and conducting field work to collect newdata.

JobRequirements:
  • Bachelordegree (second upper) in Environmental Science, Geography, SocialSciences or other related fields
  • Excellent oraland written communication skills
  • Highlyorganized and proactive
  • Ability to workindependently and meet deadlines
  • Positiveworking attitude, both in a team andindependently
  • As the position requiresstakeholder engagement in English, candidate must be fluent inEnglish
  • Familiar with data analysis software(e.g., R, Matlab, SPSS, Primer orPython)
  • Experience with data analysistechniques (e.g., ANOVA, PCA, Regression,MDNS)
  • Experience with qualitative methods abonus (e.g., observations, interviews, etc.) and analysis (e.g.,thematic coding, etc.)
  • Excellent datamanagement and analysis skills abonus
