Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Fiber Broadband (GPON) Network Engineer Intern to join our team and support the rollout of SIMBA’s cutting-edge 10G PON offering. The successful candidate will assist in the installation and troubleshooting of network services at both the IP and GPON layers. This internship presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals pursuing or recently completing their ITE or Diploma studies in related fields, providing hands-on experience with fiber broadband networks and the latest technologies in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in the deployment and configuration of SIMBA’s 10G PON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) infrastructure for end-user connections.

· Support the installation and basic troubleshooting of 10G PON services, ensuring smooth and efficient setup for customers.

· Work with the team to test, verify, and monitor the performance of IP and GPON networks.

· Provide technical support to end users for the basic installation of fiber broadband services, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

· Help with the documentation and tracking of installation processes and troubleshooting activities.

· Assist in maintaining network diagrams, reports, and records for network installations and changes.

· Participate in the testing and optimization of fiber network performance to ensure high-quality service delivery.

· Learn about the setup, integration, and management of fiber broadband equipment and tools.

· Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in fiber optic and broadband network technologies.

Job Requirements

· Pursuing or recently completed an ITE or Diploma in Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Understanding of networking concepts at the IP layer and some knowledge of GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) is preferred.

· Basic knowledge of networking protocols, equipment, and tools used in broadband and fiber networks.

· A strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in network engineering and fiber broadband technologies.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

· Good communication skills to interact with team members and customers.
