We are seeking an experienced Cloud Database Administrator (Cloud DBA) to administer, maintain, and optimize cloud-based relational and non-relational databases across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, managing, and supporting cloud database solutions while ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain custom cloud databases such as Amazon Aurora, Azure Cosmos DB, and Google Cloud Spanner.
  • Set up relational and non-relational databases according to technical requirements.
  • Manage database user accounts, access rights, privileges, roles, and security profiles.
  • Monitor database storage, space utilization, and table extents to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Set up, manage, and support relational databases including:

  • AWS: Amazon RDS for MariaDB, RDS for SQL Server, RDS for MySQL, RDS for Oracle.
  • Azure: Azure SQL Database, Azure Database for MySQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
  • Google Cloud: Google Cloud SQL for SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Non-Relational Database Management:

  • AWS: Amazon DynamoDB.
  • Azure: Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Google Cloud: Google Cloud Bigtable and Google Cloud Datastore.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in administering cloud-based databases on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Strong expertise in database security, backup & recovery, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native database automation, scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, replication failures, and connectivity problems.
  • Strong understanding of high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and database scalability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
  • Experience with database migration tools and strategies.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized databases, and serverless computing.
