Roles & Responsibilities

Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer


Summary:

Oversee design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of electrical and instrumentation systems for process and utility projects. Ensure compliance with budget, timeline, cGMP, safety, and environmental standards. Transition systems into operational phases with a focus on seamless integration and calibration accuracy.


Responsibilities:


Design Phase:

  • Develop electrical and instrumentation specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and instrument criticality analysis.
  • Maintain engineering documents (specifications, P&IDs, datasheets, layouts).
  • Evaluate and specify instruments/equipment for process and utility systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, review designs, and support procurement.

Installation/Qualification Phase:

  • Supervise installation, commissioning, and qualification activities.
  • Ensure compliance with design standards during installation.
  • Manage calibration activities and oversee functional testing.
  • Develop and execute commissioning plans and qualification protocols.
  • Troubleshoot issues and ensure proper system handover to operations.

Operational Transition:

  • Set up calibration workshops and maintain calibration equipment.
  • Develop calibration schedules and procedures.
  • Monitor system performance, implement improvements, and provide training.
  • Maintain records in CMMS (e.g., Maximo) and ensure compliance with standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of industry experience in electrical/instrumentation projects.
  • Strong design, project management, and budgeting skills.
  • Experience with instrumentation in biotech/pharmaceutical environments.
  • Proficiency in CMMS (e.g., Maximo), AutoCAD, and office software.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and codes.
  • Ability to manage audits and CAPA processes.
  • Willingness to travel and undergo training abroad.
  • GMP Manufacturing experience is a must

Preferred:

  • Instrumentation expertise with secondary automation skills.
  • Proficiency in Chinese/English for stakeholder communication.
