The College ofComputing and Data Science and the School of Art Design and Mediaat NTU, Singapore, invite qualified academics to apply for facultypositions as Associate Professor (tenure track) in Games. ADM ispart of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences(COHASS). These positions seek expertise in one or more areas ofGames, with expertise in relevant fields including game design,interactive media, animation, computing and creative technologies.The appointed faculty will play a key role in maintaining andenhancing NTU's reputation as a leader of contemporary digitalmedia and design technologies in Singapore.

Thisis a joint appointment between the School of Art, Design and Media(ADM) and the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) atNanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU). This positionwill be housed at CCDS.

Applicants for thisposition must be comfortable with the dynamically evolvinglandscape of contemporary digital media and design and technology,and have the confidence to maintain proficiency, both academicallyand technically, to contribute to the vibrant research-drivenculture that is embraced at NTU. You will contribute to theon-going development of innovative curriculum to ensure relevanceto contemporary industry and society. These positions are researchbased, so you will either have a well-established research profile,or be able to demonstrate readiness and ability to begin aresearch-based academic career.

Theyshould also demonstrate strong ability for effective undergraduateand graduate level teaching. Candidates must have vision and aninterest in defining the research frontier as well as educating ournext-generation of young leaders in this rapidly evolving field.Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to combinetheoretical knowledge with practical development of computationalsolutions andsystems.

Requirements:

  • Youshould possess a PhD in related disciplines from a well-recognizeduniversity.
  • You have demonstrated exceptionalpromise for or a proven record of research achievements within thechosen field of research and strong ability for effectiveundergraduate and graduate level teaching
  • Youare able to lead and work as part of a multidisciplinaryteam
  • You are able to supervise research staffand students through effectivecommunication
  • You should ideally possess strongpresentationskills


KnowledgeRequired

  • Strongtrack record to teach all aspects of games, game design and gametechnologies, with relevant expertise in related fields ininteractive media, computing, animation, motion graphics, gamevisual development, creative computing and technology-enabledart.
  • Demonstration of scholarship incontemporary publication or output forums for games, interactivemedia, animation, game visual development, computing or machinelearning/AI isessential.


This positionwill focus on advancing the technical foundations and applicationsof Game Technologies and emerging fields in AI, computer graphics,computer vision, and metaverse development. This can include but itis not limited to field-specific approaches to coding, softwaredevelopment and implementation, application of AI and machinelearning for games (e.g. Procedural content generation, AI-drivenstorytelling, and player behavior modeling), geometric modeling and3D reconstruction, computer graphics and real-time rendering, gamephysics and realistic simulation, human-computer interaction forgames, and metaverse and AR/VR techniques,-.
