Roles & Responsibilities

Working under the directions of Deputy Executive Director of NUHCS, the purpose of research cardio-informatics team is to use research data (both clinical and non clinical) to perform data analytics, using state of the art statistical methodologies, augmenting with Machine Learning (ML) and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI), to improve diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

As member of this NUHCS research cardio-informatics team, he/she will liaise with external collaborators to ensure success of all research initiatives and contribute directly to CArdiovascular DiseasE National Collaborative Enterprise (CADENCE), platform 1 “Data Science”, a national clinical translational programme aimed at synergising cardiovascular research and technology capabilities across Singapore.

You will be responsible for the following:

1. Assume coordinating role in managing NUHCS cardiology clinical data extraction and transfer between contributing data sources/repositories and the main platform.
2. Oversee administration of data access and usage, including maintenance of cardiovascular-related (CV) database. To acquire and consolidate list of CV-related clinical, pre-clinical and biobank information for the database.
3. Perform data analyses when required.
4. Conduct literature searches, and analyse data and maintain trial database, as well as writing research papers to publish in scientific journals.
5. Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Requirements:

• Masters’s Degree in any science discipline, preferably related to clinical settings.
• Be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature and attention to details.
• Strong research writing skills with experience in research methods and data analytics. Publishing research paper as first author would be preferred.
• Proficient in at least one programming skills mentioned here: Matlab, Python, C++, R, SQL, STATA.
• Domain knowledge in healthcare data is required.
• Experience working in healthcare and/or wet laboratory settings would be very advantageous.
