Associate Microbiologist

• Ensure that the day-to-day activities of the Microbiology Laboratory are carried out in a safe and production manner, adhering to GMP/GLP standards at all times.
• Ensure results are updated and products/ ingredients, EMP, etc are released timely and escalate when there is abnormal trend or out of specification (OO5)/out of action level (OAL) .
• Conduct investigation with respect to lab investigation or any investigation needed due to lab issues.
• Provide assistance, consultation to production and assigned resource for micro events in  the plant .
• Knowledge of principles, methods, technologies and practices of a professional/technical field .
• Good knowledge of procedures and activities within own work area.
• Manage a team of analysts and ensure all site key metrics are adhere to, example, BBS, SAV and training completion before 7 days, ideas generation/implementation
• Work under general direction, seek assistance as needed .
• Responsible for career development , planning/ performance and discussion of team members.
• Provide leadership, coaching/feedback and development for direct reports
• Ask effective questions and solicit feedback to understand laboratory and analyst needs.
• Involve, develop and implement continuous projects in the micro lab to improve safety and efficiency of the micro lab.
• Anticipate micro lab needs based on past transact on.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology or related with discipline with 1-3 years' experience or Diploma with minimum 3-5 years' experience.
• Competent in basic microbiology techniques and lab instrumentation, such as aseptic technique and media preparation, 3M MOS, Vidas, etc
• Good leadership, communication, problem solving, good time management and report writing skill.
• Willing to work on 12 hours rotating shift (Day Shift and Night Shift)
