Childcare Relief Assistant Teacher

Job Scopes for Assistant Teacher

• Assist the teacher to plan both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy;
• Assist the teacher to meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child ;
• Assist the teacher to coordinate field trips;
• Assist the teacher to prepare monthly plan charts and daily lesson plan;
• Assist the teacher to complete bi-annual assessment of children's development ;
• Assist the teacher to maintain daily open communication with parents ;
• Assist the teacher to keep accident reports and maintain anecdotal records ;
• Assist in cleaning or disinfecting the resources/ toys ;
• Assist in the execution of routine care activities e.g. feeding/ meal time, diapering/ toileting, bathing/ washing, sleeping/ napping ;
• Maintain confidentiality ;
• Report any inappropriate act to supervisor ;
• Assist the teacher to arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy ;
• Assist the teacher to set up learning corners;
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment ;
• To ensure that the children are supervised and safe at all times ;
• Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials ;
• Assist the teacher in the classroom management such as establish routines, provide positive guidance and build children’s esteem ;
• Assist the teacher to keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and time sheets;
• Assist the teacher to meet all applicable licensing regulations;
• Requirement: Fundamental certificate
