Job Summary:
Resolve claims within authority levels in the most effective, efficient way while delivering a customer-centric claims service. Apply new technologies such as Robotic Process Automation(RPA) or AI solution in claim handling. Analyse claims data to identify trends and provide operational insight. Candidate is analytical and demonstrates the willingness to learn from technical claims staff across A&H and Marine lines of businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update claims file in timely and proactive manner
- Complete policy verification and coverage determination by analyzing applicable coverage for claims and determining whether the loss falls within coverage.
- Ensure a timely resolution to claims within claims guidelines and escalating issues as appropriate to senior claims staff.
- Establish timely reserves within claims guidelines and perform ongoing review throughout claims cycle within authority limit by estimating and validating value of claims
- Develop appropriate negotiation strategy within authority limits.
- Ensure customer service by proactively communicating information, responding to inquiries following customer service protocols.
- Apply new technologies to improve the efficiency of daily process and extract better insights from claims data.
Business Accountabilities:
- Review assigned customer cases, prioritize case load and interpret established policies, applying discretion within authority whilst executing consistency of claims service across portfolio.
- Collect, analyze and document data in established systems from multiple sources to make informed, authoritative technical/professional decisions and recommendations in order to accurately assess the value of claims and also contribute to the improvement of business performance in the medium and longer term.
- Diagnose and provide high quality, expert technical advice and solutions that enable a customer to solve complex business and customer problems.
- Operate with a customer-led mindset and support innovation of updated process / system improvement to enhance claims service.
- Establish relationships with colleagues across multiple functions to be able to keep them informed of relevant issues based on individual's claims specialism, providing advice to help develop claims policies.
Qualfiications:
- Preference that candidate is degree holder in any discipline, or diploma holder with insurance qualification e.g. BCP, ComGI, PGI,HI
- Some knowledge of insurance product and service preferred
- Fast learner and up-to-date with new technology and skills especially to drive process analysis
- Good knowledge of software development processes and methods
- Knowledge of machine learning is preferred
- Familiar with agile development cycle and UAT process
- High energy, self-motivation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment with a customer focused attitude
- Good analytical mind and able to work with minimal supervision
- Team player who is able to support other high performing team members and contribute to the successful culture
- Proficient in spoken and written English is necessary
