Our client is one of the leading Venture Capital firms in Europe and has $Xb in AUM and more than 150 portfolio companies. They are hiring an Analyst / Associate as part of further growth in SEA where their focus will be startups raising Series A to C. As an Analyst or Associate, you will be part of the Growth investment team and ensure the successful execution of due diligence processes across SEA.RESPONSIBILITIESPart I - Screening (20%)Drive the sourcing of new investment opportunities through networking and outreach and lead initial screening with a focus on the Asia startup ecosystemMeet entrepreneurs with the team regularlyParticipate at startup events to gather info on startups, sectors and new trendsDig deep into tech topics you are passionate about to help the team build a thesis on industries & trendsPart II - Due Diligence (80%)Lead due diligence meetings, reference calls, product and technical due diligencePerform competitive landscape research, market sizing, business plan modellingAssist term sheet negotiationsDrafting of investment memorandums.Support portfolio companies with ongoing financial analyses and follow-on fundraising processesPart III - SupportSupport portfolio companies with financial analyses and follow-on fundraising processesHelp us manage our relationships with our LPs through events and special reports on trends they are interested inOrganize events and build content to promote the fund in the Asian ecosystemBuild and enhance internal processesREQUIREMENTSA genuine interest in technology & entrepreneurship. You don't need to be a VC ecosystem's expert, but we would expect you to show a vivid interest for and convictions on new technologies and tech companies.At least 1 internship / work experience in a challenging field (analyst) or first full-time experience (associate). We're open to all industries and positions - what we're looking for is someone who has had meaningful responsibilities. Experience in a start-up / scale-up, in finance or in consulting are a plus.Previous exposure to the Asia tech ecosystem. Ideally you have already spent some time in the ecosystem be it as a student or through some first work experiences.Proven rigor & analytical skills. As an analyst or an associate, being able to analyze and understand complex structures will come in handy :)Curious & open-minded. You will meet new people, new businesses and new industries every day. So wanting to learn more about things you know nothing about is an absolute necessity.Autonomous & organized. You will need to juggle different tasks with different investors, be able to prioritize your work and be proactive in leveraging the team.Fluent in English - both written & communication skills. A second language is a nice-to-have.A bonus if you are:Tech-savvy with an engineering / scientific / programming background. Knowing how to code and understanding the practical underlying of technologies are a definite plus to assess opportunities, especially in developer tools, cloud & data infrastructure and deep tech.Have launched an entrepreneurial project. No one understands entrepreneurs better than entrepreneurs.
